Dear John
In the book Dear John by Nicholas Sparks, John and Savannah try to make a long distance relationship work while John goes off to war. They have a hard time and end up not working out. Do you think that you could ever make a long distance relationship work? Even if you're not separated by oceans, it can be hard. How do you think some people end up keeping their relationships strong through this?
I have never been in a long distance relationship, but I know that if two people love eachother enough, distance can be dealt with. My sister lives in Fargo, and her husband goes off for months working on powerlines far away, and their love is strong enough to battle the distance. If you want it bad enough, it will work out!
ReplyDeleteFor me this really isn't a hard question to answer because I have been dating the same boy for almost two years and we both live an hour away. We see each other on the weekends and it makes our time together so much more enjoyable because we only get to see each other once a week. This summer Im going to england for 7 weeks and we will skype and call and text so it won't be to hard, but also you have to have trust that your relationship isn't defined by distance but rather by love and if its defined by love you can over come most anything and distance is the least of your worries!
ReplyDeleteI think that if I cared enough about the person I'm in a relationship in I would make a long distance relationship work. If you care enough and love someone it won't matter how far apart you are. If both people in the relationship try to make it work, then it will. To keep a relationship working you must care for the other person more than yourself. It would be hard to not be able to see that person everyday. But if you cared and loved them you would make it work!
ReplyDeleteI think that everyone can make a long distance relationship work. All it is is a little more work on both parts. I think if you really love each other, you will make it work. I have been in a long distance relationship and yes, it is hard, but its do-able.
ReplyDeleteI personally think that if two people truly love each other they can make a long distance relationship work. It wouldn't be easy thats for sure but it can be done. Both people in the relationship have to feel the same. Not one person being truly in love and the other just there because they didn't want to end the relationship. For this type of relationship it would make being together a lot more enjoyable because they haven't seen each other for a while.
ReplyDeleteIf we both really loved each other I would definately be willing to make it work. As long as he was willing to, I would be. Even though it would be very hard I would try my best to do it. I wouldn't let something like distance tear us apart if we loved each other.I think a really big thing that holds the two together is faith and love. You have to be able to have faith that it will work out and if its true love it will work out.
ReplyDeleteI think that long distance relationships are extermely hard but if with the reight person you can get throught them. You have to keep your mind off thinking of thosers as potenital. Also you have to stay in steady contact to keep your relationship alive. I personaly think that being in a long distance relationship would be one of the hardest things but if Im with the right person I could do it.
ReplyDeleteWhen there is a want there is always a way to achieve it. I believe that the only way a long distance relationship can work is if both of the people are willing to have all odds against them and still manage to pull through the good and the bad. To trust is important, you've just got to not expect but to wait and be patient. Ones who are patient are awarded.
ReplyDeleteHebrews 10:35
So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you!
I really think you can make a long distance relationship work. It's really how much you love the person and how devoted to making it work. It dousnt matter how far away you are from that person, if you really trully love them, than nothing will stop you.
